God is not an isolated God – He does not hide himself, but He wants to and is worthy to be known to the ends of the earth. Psalm 96:3-4 says – “Declare his glory among the nations, his marvellous works among all the peoples! For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; he is to be feared above all gods”

Our God is the one and only god and He seeks to be and will be glorified, not just by more people, but people from every tribe, language, peoples and nations. Glorified for the great God He is to us through our Lord Jesus Christ. Revelations 5:9 says – “And they sang a new song, saying, “Worthy are you to take the scroll and to open its seals, for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation”

This is what missionary work is all about. Jonathan Edwards accurately said that “Missions exists because worship doesn’t” The goal of missionary is to make God known and to gather people from all tribes, tongues, peoples and nations to worship God. John 11:51b-52 – “He prophesied that Jesus would die for the nation (Israel), and not only for the nation only, but also to gather into one the children of God who are SCATTERED abroad” They are scattered and we need to seek these scattered children, so that they can turn and be saved to the glory of God.

Thus missionary work is not a wise, man made plan – it is God desired and God inspired

Chris Woolley said:

“God the Father originated the mission, the Son enacted the mission, the Spirit empowered the mission, the church carries out the mission, the world ENCOMPASSES the mission and the glory of God fulfils the mission.”
